When the crankshaft rotates, the connecting rod is pushed to rotate back and forth. At the other end of the connecting rod, the piston head has been moving in the cylinder. The rotation of the crankshaft converts the linear motion of the connecting rod into the reciprocating piston motion, which is called the crankshaft output. The output speed of the crankshaft is determined by the engine speed. III. Common faults of the engine crankshaft Although the design and durability of the engine crankshaft are very good, it is not completely immune to faults.Common crankshaft failures include fatigue cracks, bending, distortion and damage. In the event of distortion or damage to the crankshaft, the engine performance will be affected, which may cause the engine to not work properly and eventually lead to engine failure.
